Covered grills are available in two sizes. The smaller model (999-26) provides 320 square inches of cooking area and measures 19-1/2″ x 29-1/4″ x 16-1/2″, weighing 145 lbs. The larger model (999-40) provides 500 square inches of cooking area and measures 19-1/2″ x 41-1/2″ x 16-1/2″, weighing 188 lbs. Both models feature four draft vents, 360° rotation for heat and smoke control, a hinged single-level cooking grate that tips up for easy fire access, and a fire grate that keeps coals off the bottom of the firebox for better draft control. The fire grate also tips up for easy ash cleanout through the side door. Each grill includes one bolt-on utility shelf. An optional portable castor base is available. Finished in high-heat, non-toxic black enamel.
The lid keeps rain and snow out of the firebox, which is the primary cause of premature deterioration in open park grills. By protecting the firebox from moisture accumulation, the covered design significantly extends the usable life of the grill. The fire grate elevates coals off the bottom of the firebox, improving airflow and reducing heat concentration at the base, further protecting the firebox from wear over time.
Both covered grill models are designed for permanent in-ground mounting on a 3-1/2″ O.D. pedestal that is 40″ long. An optional portable castor base is available for non-permanent placement.
