The Grand Contour swing uses the same ergonomic contoured design as our Grand Contour bench line, adapted for swing frame mounting. Available in 4′ and 6′ lengths. The 4′ swing measures 77 1/2″ wide post to post, and the 6′ swing measures 101 1/2″ wide post to post. Both sizes stand 81 3/8″ tall with a recommended seat height of 18″ from the ground. The contoured seat and back provide comfort during extended use, and the plastisol-coated steel frame handles the repetitive stress loads that swings demand.
Swings have unique requirements that expose coating failures faster than any other site amenity. The constant motion creates friction at chain attachment points. Users grip chains and seat edges with bare hands in summer heat. Children’s skin contacts the seat surface directly. Plastisol-coated steel solves every one of these problems: the coating does not conduct heat or cold the way bare metal does, so there is no risk of skin burns in summer or cold-contact injuries in winter. There is no exposed metal at grip points. The thick plastisol surface absorbs chain friction without chipping.
Grand Contour swings are direct bury only, requiring concrete footings per the included specification sheet. Posts are set in 12″ diameter holes at least 30″ deep, or below the frost line in your area, whichever is greater. All hardware is stainless steel. A safety zone clearance area is required around the swing per ASTM F1487 and CPSC guidelines. Refer to the product specification sheets for exact dimensions.
